I want to move stex to a new computer but its giving me an error I've tried everyway possible but no luck yet, I know all support has gone from this program and developer passed away but has anyone got any solutions ?

I am running Stex Version 9 and all is good but I would like to be able to download the ASX closing prices to regularly update the Market Values. Is this possible? Do I need an extra piece of software?

Andrew Briant, no this is no longer possible - it was a separate program from the now deceased programmer. What you can do is download the ASX prices into a CSV file and upload it into the folder where your market values are stored.
Hi Ann, yes I think the developer may have passed away. I've had to re-install Stex recently and I'm having issues with it wanting the key entered everytime I log in. Are you still using it or have you found an alternative?

Wilbur, you can’t I’m afraid, the developer has passed and there is no support. It is possible to get in the backend and remove the need for a code, but you’ll need a programmer. I paid someone to do it for me so I could keep using it. Good luck.

Thanks for the speedy reply about a solution to the activation code issue. You seem to have been proactive in keeping STEX operational. Was the programmer able to find the solution easily to circumvent the need for a code to keep STEX operational?
Greg Johnson, How much did you have to pay. I have just upgraded my PC to Windows 11 and have a problem with stex and another program where the developer has passed on and there is no support for the activation code. The other program is very important, I am currently between a rock and a hard place.
Wilbur/John - my son is a programmer and can probably help you out with your issues (he fixed mine quite quickly). Only thing is that he had access to my pc of course.
Anyway, if you want to email me at [email protected] I’ll pass on your problems to him and see if he is willing to help. He wouldn’t charge much for his time, but you can sort that out with him
Greg Johnson, who was the programmer you used , I know eventually ill have to try a new software program. I've looked at ezymanager 7 but ill have to go back and enter all buys and sells manually and learn a new program , this would take days
